Some 017 batteries are 190mm tall - it seems you need a 017 battery which is 175mm tall.

11.6 is low ish, but you’d be seeing more than this if it was an issue.
The light is coming on when the fault is active and going off when it clears. The code is then stored as an “absent” fault. The balance of probability is that it’s the sensor.

On the question at the end, no, it doesn't do anything. Mainly because you can't get to it. Might have been used to lift it when it was installed as an assembly in the factory.

It looks like the vac system on the Ghibli has a vacuum pump and a solenoid mounted to the top of the manifold. Is it definite that it only happens when you are braking?
